Crochet Pineapple Barefoot Sandals

Free Pattern for Crochet Pineapple Barefoot Sandals

Last week we went to Bataan for our family beach getaway, and this gave me the opportunity to continue working on my crochet summer projects while my little boy was having an enjoyable time playing with his cousins. You bet, the sun has got me so inspired to finally finish this one! I’ve actually made two versions of the pattern – with and without beads. Both patterns are so easy and beginner friendly. You only need basic crochet knowledge to make this simple yet classy accessory, even while relaxing on a vacation.

Truth is, I’ve seen a lot of crochet pineapple designs online but two of my favorite finds include the Jute Twine Doily that I recently made following Pamela Wynne’s Chunky Doily Rag pattern and the Pineapple Bookmark designed by Priscilla Hewitt. With minor adjustments and addition of other stitches I thought of making something wearable for myself and for my sister, sort of a Mother’s Day treat for each of us. It’s perfect addition to any summer outfit especially if you also love walking along the seaside barefooted.

So are you ready to crochet up this pretties? If you do end up making this from my pattern, I’d love to see the result. Take a picture and share it on Instagram with the hashtag #iheartgantsilyo and tag @iheartgantsilyo. I would love to see it!

PATTERN WITH BEADS

Please note that you can put as many beads as you want, but for the pattern below I will stick to the exact number of beads I used.

First things first, thread in yarn needle. Insert the 10 small glass beads first then one large wooden bead.

TOE SLING:

Step 1: Chain 35, slip stitch into the first chain to form a ring.

Step 2: Slide down the large wooden bead that was already inserted in the yarn positioning it above the ring made. Insert crochet hook in the bead then pull the yarn tail into the bead.

Step 3: Pull a loop about twice the length of the large wooden bead from the last slip stitch made. Insert crochet hook in the second large wooden bead then pull the loop into the bead.

Step 4: Catch yarn over and chain 7, slip stitch into the first chain made to form a ring. Continue to next steps.
